location : R.A. = 23h45m17s, Decl. = -44:56:47'' (equinox 2000.0)
the supernova appeared in a frame constructed from
the difference between ccd frames taken on October 1996 the
10th and October 1997 the 20th. Its existence has been
confirmed on a ccd frame taken on October 1997 the 21st.
It is located 4 arcsec SW of the center of the host galaxy
